A little bit of love.

Last week was my 9Th anniversary. My week was so busy and we had multiple guests in our home; we never really got a chance to "celebrate". I wanted to take a few moments to brag about my wonderfully handsome husband. Now, my husband does not believe in destiny or anything "meant to be". But I definitely do. When we met I was supposed to be in Oklahoma; the girl who was moving into my apartment needed to move her stuff in that night; I just happened to not make my flight out of Utah that morning; her good friend helping her move happened to be one very handsome young man named Cesar. He asked me out that very night and we have been inseparable ever since. Ces, makes me a better person. He has pushed me out of my shell since the first moment I met him. I've been able to do and see things I never would have without him. He has taught me how to never give up on myself, to always strive to be better than I am today. He has taught me how to serve with out complaining. He makes me so incredibly happy. I could never imagine my life without him. He is a wonderful father. I love to watch him come home and see the kids turn inside out with excitement, even Benjamin squeals with delight. They truly love him and he feels the same way about them. I don't know what we would do with out him. He works so hard to make sure we have everything we need. We love to laugh with Ces, one of my favorite noises in the whole world is Ces' laugh. I feel very lucky and blessed to know that I will have this man as my eternal companion.

Today while in the car, my sister mentioned that the kids would have individual sleepovers at grandmama's. Miguel put his arm around his little brother and said "No, I will never ever leave my brother! He would be so sad. Don't worry Gabe I will never leave you. Any where I go, you will go to."

Things like this just make my heart so happy.

Sleep Over!

My kids love living next to grandma for this very reason...sleepovers. They each take turn having their special night with grandma. This was Miguel's turn and he had a blast!! Grandma got him his own set of tools and they built a bug barn. He thought he was pretty hot stuff!

Benjamin is now 8 months old. Time has flown by! He has been crawling for almost 2 months now and he is trying really hard to walk. He pulls himself up on everything he can; some things he shouldn't because they move and he falls and there are lots of tears. :( But he just gets right back up and tries again. He has 2 teeth;which are like razors! He loves to go outside with his brothers and sister. He actually goes to the back door and bangs on it and "yells" until I let him go out. He thinks he is one of the big kids. He LOVES to smile and laugh. He believes everything is so funny! We love having our Benji.

Since my Mom has a pool in her backyard and she only lives 7 mins away we have spent the majority of our summer in her pool. The fact that it's been a record year for high temps. (107*) has had only the slightest influence on this.

Now, he plays with them all the time. They often take trips to the sandbox in the backyard.

We love our little Miguel. He is so full of life. He gets excited about everything. He has an amazing imagination which he uses to make up stories. He loves to learn about all kinds of creatures and loves to tell you all about them! He is fascinated by the human body. He got lots of "your body battles...." books for his birthday. Miguel is a great big brother! Gabe and Benji love him and are always following him around. Especially Gabe, he loves to copy everything Miguel does! Miguel gives hugs and kisses all the time. He loves to express his love for us all the time. He is the sweetest little man and we love having him in our family.

A special day.

Our Emma was baptized on June 4th.

She had grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who traveled to Tulsa to be there on her special day.

Her Aunts Missy, Teeny and Janie sang a beautiful song, "I Stand All Amazed". I wish I had recorded it so I could have posted it but just take it from me it was gorgeous and there were many tears. Thank you girls for filling Emma's day with the spirit. :)

Emma is such a special, sweet little girl and I know her Heavenly Father is very proud of her for the decisions she has made. We love you, Princess!!

Emma's 8!!!

What an amazing young lady I have been entrusted with. I think I take for granted just how great she really is. I am always so busy I don't stop to realize how much she does to help me. She has a huge heart that she shares with everyone around her.
Emma loves to read! For her birthday,my Mom and her Aunts got her 2 different chapter book series; Judy Moody and Super Fudge. In the first day she had read 2 of the books. She had completed both series in less that 2 weeks! I tell her she should do something besides read but she doesn't think so. She says, "But Mom, you always say reading is good for me!" LOL.

Emma is very witty and quick on her feet. For example, She was upstairs and asked me to get her a shirt from off the couch. I threw it up the stairs and when she asked me where it was I said, " I threw it up" Emma's response (with a smirk) " Gross! I don't want to wear it now!!"

Emma is still in the Dual Language program at school. She will be starting 3rd grade this year. She is still loving Spanish. She won't speak it frequently or infront of me but I do catch her speaking with her Daddy and Abuela & she likes to teach Miguel a few words here and there. She sounds so precious! I can't wait til she is comfortable speaking it all the time.

Emma has been taking gymnastics which she loves. We (meaning I) took a break from it this summer, so she spends everyday swimming at my Moms instead. Emma still loves animals and still wants to be a vet when she is all grown up. She has added being a Mom to her list as well. :)

I love my beautiful baby girl. I am so blessed and lucky to have her as my daughter.

From the mouth of Miguel...

Miguel is the funniest kid. I should start writing down everything he says but I'm usually to busy giggling about it to write it down. I thought I would share some that I could remember from the last couple weeks...

"Mom!, I busted my rump! "

After teaching Gabe how to properly jump from the couch onto the big pile of cushions and Gabe does it correctly, he shouts, "That's the ticket, Gabe!"

Me: "Miguel, what do you want the lesson to be about for Family Home Evening tonight?"
Miguel: (very serious) "Ummm....testicals...like how if you feed and water them they grow"
Me: ( trying not to laugh) "I think you mean testimonies, sweetie?"
Miguel: (serious) "No, Mom...testicals"

"Holy Guacamole!"

"Holy, tacos!"

"Holy Peanuts"

His response when something goes his way, "That's what I'm talkin' about!"

Me: "Miguel, are you hungry?"
Miguel: " You betcha, Mom!"

Emma: "I really like, animals. They are my favorite thing"
Miguel: "Emma that means you are attracted to them."
Emma : "What?!"
Miguel: "Yep, you're attracted to them."

Miguel wanted to know what the movie Unstoppable was about. We told him and then his Daddy asked him how he would stop a train that was out of control...
"I would stick bombs, grenades and time bombs on it and then let them do their thing."

The many faces of Benji

The kids had a snow day yesterday and Emma was terribly bored (after being home an hour longer than normal). She suggested we do a photo shoot with Benji. It was a lot of fun and I think we captured every look of his. Enjoy :)
