How the times have changed...

Last night while my children were bathing; Emma was playing with a toy airplane and I overheard her saying "Are we there yet? I think so, or at least we should be because the GPS said so". I was like the GPS said so? I couldn't help but laugh and think of how different things are with our children.

I mentioned my favorite doll I had when I was little named Cricket to Emma. I told her she had a place where you put a tape and she would tell stories, sing songs. Her eyes would blink.

Emma says "You put tape on her so she would talk?" I smiled and said no not that kind of tape like a CD only it's different. She looked at me like I was crazy. Some days I feel really old :)

A day with Miguel

A day with Miguel is never dull. He is a very busy little boy. Here are a few pictures I got from a normal day last week.

Miguel loves to cook. Anytime he hears someone in the kitchen he comes running and yelling "I wanna help, I wanna help!" This day I was making sugar cookies and he really got in to it. I don't know if you all can see but he is trying to roll a little piece of dough. It's taking all his concentration. The reason he is covered in flour is because I left the room and he was hollering to me "I'm making you cookies, Mama. They be so yummy. K?" I of course just said okay. When I made it back to the table (about 3 mins.) he had scooped out about 4 cups of flour and had cut shapes into the flour. I told him they were so beautiful and the cleaned up the flour. He was so proud of all his hard work.

He also loves bubbles. He has a bubble machine that spits out millions of bubbles. After a few minutes the room is filled with them. He loves it. He tries to grab them with his hands. He wants to hold them but gets frustrated when they pop in his hands. He then finds way to just demolish them His favorite way thus far is with his baseball bat.

He is always playing with cars too. He is constantly bringing us a car and asking us to play with him. He has a car that he has named Johnson and the car he gives to me or his Dad is usually Fred. We go all over the house on adventures but when we can't play he tries to get Gabriel to play with him. He will be so excited when he is big enough to play for real.

So, by the end of the day we are both very tired but with lots of stories to tell Daddy.

And then there were five...

Hi Everyone. I've been promising friends that I would start this blog for months now. I figured now was a great time to start. As most of you know we have just recently become a family of five. On October 26th at 12:47 am; after 24 hours of labor; Gabriel Philip was born . He was 7 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long.

Yes, I said 24 hours of labor. Apparently the third child is much different than the previous. Or this is what nurses and doctors kept telling me. Emma took about 12 hours and Miguel was 4.5 hours. But I wasn't so lucky with this little guy. My epidural didn't work either so I did this all natural! I was completely unprepared. Ces and I have never taken a birthing class because I just always planned on epidurals. Who needs to know how to breathe when you are going to be numb?! Well, I should have thought about that a little more. :) I would not have been able to do it without my Mom there. My poor husband was just so worried about how much pain I seemed to be in(he was always used to seeing me smiling and numb) My Mom told me what to do and when to breathe and then told Ces what he needed to do to help me. I don't remember much but I do remember my sweet husband brushing my hair off my forehead and telling me to breathe and what a good job I was doing. I felt like I was flipping out but he kept telling me otherwise. Although I was not prepared for it and it hurt like crazy it was an amazing experience and I got a beautiful little boy out of it. Emma and Miguel are doing great with their new little brother.
Miguel tells us and everyone else that when Gabriel grows bigger they are giong to be on a soccer team together. It's so cute. He is always asking him if he wants to play cars and dinosaurs with him. I often find Gabriel in is crib with toys laying next to him or ontop of him.
Emma is very proud of her new little brother and loves to show him off to her friends and teachers. She is such a good little helper and a great big sister. She is very good at calming him down and being a second mommy to Miguel. She is the best. All and all we are doing great and are very happy.
